Short + Sweet Yoga Nidra

Join Rita's series offering a nourishing 30 minute yoga nidra

Yoga nidra is a guided lying-down meditation that will support your nervous system as it shifts to the parasympathetic state, where rest and healing happens. Align your energy during this month of darkness and deepen your relaxation and sleep. Rita will not guide you out of the Nidra so feel free to practice in your pjs in bed and remain resting or drift off to sleep when the 30 minutes are over….

Nidra allows you to:

  • Feel permission to just be.

  • Notice what is present in your body

  • Connect with others as you rest in a community of like-minded folks.

Beginners are warmly welcome!

These items are recommended for optimal comfort during the practice:

We encourage you to have these ready when the class begins. Prepare your nidra nest ahead of time.

  • Blanket, because our body temperature often drops during relaxation. A blanket below the body can also feel lovely, as well as one folded under your head.

  • Some cushions or a bolster under your knees if you are practicing in corpse pose.

  • Eye pillow or scarf if you like darkness for resting.

  • Cell phone on silent.

  • Essential oil or lotion for the anointing practice that we do at the start of the class. This is optional for sure. We can imagine a scent that we find restful and yummy. Our minds are so powerful.

  • If you need to wake up after the nidra is completed, have water or tea (ideally no caffeine), maybe a light snack. This will help you ground after the nidra is over. Blood sugar often drops during deep relaxation. Especially important to keep in mind if you are diabetic!

This series will be recorded and available for replay until March 5th
