A short and sweet 4-week series in May with Rita

This series offers a nourishing 30 minute yoga nidra to support your rest.
Yoga nidra is a guided lying-down meditation that will support your nervous system as it shifts to the parasympathetic state, where rest and healing happens. Beginners are warmly welcome!
My intention is to support you in aligning with the energy of spring and support sleep. Feel free to practice in your pjs in bed. I will not guide you out of nidra, i.e. you can remain resting and drift off to sleep….
My nidras support you to:
Feel permission to just be.
Notice what is present in your body
Connect with others as you rest in a community of like-minded folks.
I am collaborating with friend, herbalist and farmer Jennifer Serna, so that you can access some magical plant allies she’s created to support resting and the nervous system (optional).
What you will receive:
4 live nidra classes on Zoom
Recordings of the classes available for your personal practice until my next series starts in the fall! A summer’s worth of nidra practice.
Handout on Jennifer’s plant medicines with suggestions on using her remedios which support rest and relaxation.
Email access to yoga nidra teacher Rita Jimenez during the series for any questions.

These items are recommended for optimal comfort during the practice:
Blanket or two (for below the body, folded under your head)
Cushions or a bolster under your knees if you are practicing in corpse pose
Eye pillow or scarf if you like darkness for resting
Cell phone on silent
Essential oil or lotion for the anointing practice that we do at the start of the class (optional). We can also imagine a scent that we find restful and yummy- our minds are so powerful.
Water or tea (ideally no caffeine), and maybe a light snack to help you ground after the nidra. Blood sugar often drops during deep relaxation. Especially important to keep in mind if you are diabetic!

About Rita Jimenez (she/ella)

Rita Jimenez (she/her) is a yoga teacher, second degree reiki practitioner and perpetual student. She offers yoga nidra that often includes poetry, crystals, plants and essential oils to make it a rich sensory experience. Rita received her 300 hour yoga teacher training with Bhakti Yoga Movement Center and is a Daring to Rest Yoga Nidra Facilitator. She has completed the Total Yoga Nidra’s 14 hour Immersion Experience Online. Rita lives in Oaxaca, Mexico, where she paints, writes and loves on the dogs in her pueblo.
